Since its founding in 2004, hw diving has been a company by divers for divers. All products are manufactured in Germany and tested by ourselves and a large team of test divers worldwide.

The Start in 2004

Founder and developer Matthias Heinrichs, who is himself a passionate diver and underwater photographer, first released the Digital Adapter, which allows connecting analog underwater strobes to digital cameras. Shortly thereafter, he established the OSTC as a dive computer, which is now one of the leading brands in technical diving. The OSTC was the first dive computer with a color display and open-source firmware.

From People to a Brand

For over 20 years, we have been developing dive computers and instruments for technical divers. What started in 2004 with two developers is now a small, international team and an active community. With the new name hw DIVING , we are focusing on what connects us: diving itself and the idea of open, reliable technology underwater.

Ahead of its Time

Ahead of its time even then, the OSTC is still state-of-the-art today and is constantly evolving: Its operating system is fast and efficient, the display is elaborately optically bonded, data transfer is via Bluetooth, and charging is also wireless. Inside, reliable firmware operates, which is transparent and configurable down to the last detail.

Independent

hw diving is independent of training organizations or associations. OSTC dive computers and the underlying hwOS firmware allow users to set up all relevant parameters, limits, and functions so that the devices are suitable for the respective training and application.

Strong Community

hw diving is supported by a strong community. Numerous programmers and engineers contribute to continuously improve the firmware and offer useful additional and logbook programs such as OSTC Tools, Diving Log, and Subsurface.

Diving all Year Round

Matthias Heinrichs, who has been diving since 1995 and has completed 3000 dives, goes diving with his products all year round. He is supported by a large team of test divers who put the OSTC through its paces in the most diverse conditions.

Made in Germany

All hw diving products are manufactured in Germany at the factory in Freiburg im Breisgau. To guarantee the highest quality, each device is thoroughly inspected before it reaches the customer.
